Support Others

Join an online support group like the Pet Cancer Support Group or offer to be a resource in your community to provide support and encouragement to other dog owners who are dealing with canine cancer.  Often, people who do not have companion animals or who have not had to experience cancer in their pets are unaware of the emotional toll that it can take on individuals and families.  Pet owners frequently hear comments about how it's "just a dog" or receive conflicting, and often judgemental opinions about the value of chemotherapy and other treatments.  Knowing that there are others out there who understand and who will provide unconditional support can be very powerful.

You can also support others by sharing your success stories or sharing tips about what has helped you during the journey with canine cancer.  If you have a story or tip to share, email kerry@fightcaninecancer.com.

Spread the Word

If you someone you know is facing canine cancer with their companion, talk about it!  Let others know how many of our canine companions are facing this disease and share your experiences with others.  If you know of good resources on the Internet, books, medical professionals or support groups that have helped you, share this information to help others.  Email your suggestions to
Georgia’s Legacy  to have them included on this site.

You can also spread the word by purchasing Fight Canine Cancer merchandise from the Georgia's Legacy CafePress store.  CLICK HERE to see items currently available.
