How You Can Help

Although each of us has different abilities and resources, we are each capable of contributing to the fight against canine cancer in some way.  Below are just a few ideas about how you can help.

Direct Contributions

The Magic Bullet Fund, the Morris Animal Foundation and the National Canine Cancer Foundation are all important allies in the fight against canine cancer, and they need your help!  Both rely on contributions to continue their important work.  Please consider making a donation, however big or small, in honor of your dog, or someone else's.  You can make a difference in the lives of others and demonstrate your commitment to the fight against canine cancer by supporting these amazing organizations.  Visit their sites by clicking on the links above to learn how your contributions can help.  If you do make a donation to either of these organizations, please let them know that you heard about them through Georgia’s Legacy.

Shop to Support Canine Cancer

If you shop online for ANYTHING, then you can help fight against canine cancer by visiting IGive.com and designating The Magic Bullet Fund as your charity of choice. CLICK HERE to sign up. Then, shop from one of hundreds of stores in their portal, and up to 26% of your purchases will be donated directly to these causes.  Purchase, clothing, cosmetics, electronics, flowers, gift baskets, pet supplies and so much more.  There’s no easier way to help than this!

Spread the Word

If you someone you know is facing canine cancer with their companion, talk about it!  Let others know how many of our canine companions are facing this disease and share your experiences with others.  If you know of good resources on the Internet, books, medical professionals or support groups that have helped you, share this information to help others.  Email your suggestions to Georgia’s Legacy to have them included on this site.

Support Others

Join an online support group or offer to be a resource in your community to provide support and encouragement to other dog owners who are dealing with canine cancer.  Often, people who do not have companion animals or who have not had to experience cancer in their pets are unaware of the emotional toll that it can take on individuals and families.  Pet owners frequently hear comments about how it's "just a dog" or face misguided judgments about the value of chemotherapy and other treatments.  Knowing that there are others out there who understand and who will provide unconditional support can be very powerful.  If you live in Wisconsin, email Kerry to find out how you can help.
